Slovenia’s beekeeping is developed and organized better than anywhere else in the world. Our country has a rich beekeeping tradition and it is a leader in apitourism.

We have launched the initiative for the proclamation of May 20 as World Bee Day and for the European Honey Breakfast.

Slovenia is the homeland of the Carniolan honey bee.

Slovenia is beautiful and varied. It combines the Alps, the Mediterranean, the Pannonian plain and the Karst. It is also known for its many thermal and mineral springs and highly developed health tourism. All this makes it a green, active and healthy destination.

Slovenians are very hospitable. We have delicious cuisine and wine at affordable prices.

Slovenia is a safe country in the heart of Europe. It is an easily accessible destination. Brnik (Slovenia), Zagreb (Croatia) and Graz (Austria) airports are only around an hour’s car drive from the congress venue.

We have organized APIMONDIA 2003 perfectly.

Apimondia congresses take place under the umbrella of the global organisation Apimondia, which brings together more than 110 beekeeping organisations from around the world.
